Self-portrait, architecture. 2014
This work is part of a series of I made starting from a woodcut self-portrait. I thought that the idea of presenting my own face in a series of almost identical portraits was a good way of showing how we stay ourselves yet change almost imperceptibly over time, how we appear to ourselves and others in different moments, days, circumstances, our way of being in the world. From this woodcut series, I expanded to 3D objects meant to express how we reflect our image in the world around us and how we can model it to fit our needs, feelings and egos.
